Today's X10 event finally nailed down the release dates for Dead Rising 2 (http://www.techtalkboards.com/do/gameOverview?cId=3162884). You can get your second dose of zombie-killing mayhem on August 31 in the U.S. The Japanese release will follow on September 2, and in Europe on September 3. In addition, Microsoft has announced a download-only prologue titled Dead Rising: Case Zero. The 360-exclusive game is due sometime before the launch of Dead Rising 2, and is said to bridge stories of the two Dead Rising titles.
It may not be coming soon, but at least the new release date is specific. The last time Capcom narrowed the release for its zombie murder simulator, all we heard was sometime in 2010 (http://www.techtalkboards.com/do/newsStory?cId=3177715). Capcom and Microsoft have been getting cozy lately, but the presence of a 360 exclusive prologue may mean they have something in store for the PlayStation 3 version as well. We'll keep you updated on Case Zero as we learn more about it.
